Synopsis of “PHOENIX”S SYNDROME”

The latest book by A. Slapovsky

Mythological bird Phoenix raises from ashes in a same way she appeared before, but the new character of Slapovsky’s book who regularly looses his memory due to the fire accidents, each time becomes a different person. He can’t identify himself and can’t understand which of his personalities are real.

It’s handy if after memory loss you are suddenly a good person and a rich one at a same time – but what if you are evil and poor? Thief or bandit? Somebody with a white angel wing above the shoulder but a black devil’s hoof?..

As we all have different sites of our own personalities and identities – so does the book character but in much more distinguished and extreme ways. Everybody around him suffers from such changing: a woman, who sheltered him, neighbours, and people involved…

Phoenix's Syndrome - latest book by A. Slapovsky

It’s a truthful, funny and sometimes scary modern fairytale of our times: are we really the people we pretend to be? Or are we lying to ourselves of what we truly are?
Which personality of the main character was real; what happened to him and what was the reason for that; what kind of transformations are happening to him in the story; will the character ever be loved for who he is and how his future life, in the small city where he came to with no memories - will continue, or not…

All of these answers and perhaps good questions to ask ourselves - can be found in this book.
